CHAPTER 7: No Electricity!

SUMMARY

Adrian goes to visit his mother, and a few days later her mother going to visit him. 
In addition, Bert lost his false teeth and called to Adrian for he help him to find it. He found the teeth in the kennel of the dog. 
Unfortunately, they have turn off the light because his father has stopped paying the bills.

CHAPTER 6: My Mother Leaves with Mr Lucas.

SUMMARY 

His mother want arrange a civilised meeting between Mr. Lucas and his father, but Mr. Mole couldn’t be quiet and they started fighting. After that this fight, Mrs. Mole and Mr. Lucas went to Sheffield.
IT’S ADRIAN BIRTHDAY! He fulfills fourteen years and he has had many presents, even Mr. Lucas has given money him. 
His father is very depressed and Adrian thinks that he can suicide, wherefore he hid his shaving razor.

CHAPTER 5: Divorce!

SUMMARY

Lately, Adrian hasn’t got good days. As his parents were discussing all the day they have decided get a divorce.
Also, Bert has lain to the social worker because he didn’t want to go to the old people’s home. Adrian thinks that will go to prison because he isn’t his true grandson like Bert has told.
The best notice that Adrian has had in a long time is that Pandora and Niall have broken up.

CHAPTER 4: Slave Labour on Elm Tree Aventure

SUMMARY

Adrian has started to delivering newspapers. While he’s doing his paper round he saw Pandora, and now he knows where she lives.
His parents are still discussing all day. And as his mother works she forgot to remember to Adrian that he had to take his sport clothes. He has to return home for the clothes, but the dog follow him to the high school and the headmaster made him to come back home again to let it. Almost stays without eating!

An embarrasing experience.

One day, when I was in 2º of ESO, I was chatting with my friends in the corridor when I saw that my english’s teacher appeared at the end of the corridor, she was going to my class. I couldn’t come later because she’s very angry when the people arrive later.

I ran very fast, but my teacher already had come and the door was close. In this moment my soled shoes slipped and I fell down in the middle of the corridor. I shouted because I had given me a very strong blow in the bottom.

Thank goodness, my classmates didn’t see and hear me because there was very much noise in class, but my best friend if saw it. She was laughing at me a very long time.
I came in class limping and I looked like a tomato, I was very red. I felt very embarrassed!

CHAPTER 3: Valentine's Day.

SUMMARY

It's the Valentine's Day, and the poor alone Adrian has had one card of his mother. In spite of this, he has sent a card to Pandora.
Mr. Lucas has left his house, but even so his parents continue arguing.
In addition Barry Kent, his new classmate, hit him because he didn't want to give him 50 pence every day.

CHAPTER 2: Pandora! My Lost Love!

SUMMARY

In this chapter, the Adrian's mother is looking for a job. But Adrian is to disagree with she, he thinks that his mother is selfish.
His neighbors are getting a divorce, and Mr. Lucas is going to live in his house. 
Adrian is in a group at school that helps old people, and has to visit an old man called Bert Baxter, but he isn't very nice.
Also, Pandora is going out with Nigel, and Adrian is cross with his friend because he thinks that Nigel has betrayed* him.

*Betray (verb): traicionar.

CHAPTER 1: Mr Lucas Starts to Visit.

SUMMARY


In this chapter the principal character, Adrian Mole, makes his New Year's resolutions. He is worry because he has got a spot in a chin and his parents are discussing all day. Also, his father is jealous because Mr. Lucas, the neighbor, visits Adrian's mother every day. Adrian meets a girl too, her name is Pandora, and he falls in love with her.

THE SECRET DIARY OF ADRIAN MOLE by Sue Townsend


Sue Townsed

Sue Townsend was born in Leicester in 1946. She was brought up in the suburbs, where she spent most of her free time playing in woods.
Sue learned to read at the age of eight when, she came off school with mumps, her mother gave to her a pile of books of Just William and she learned to read in just three weeks. After that moment she became obsessed with reading. Later, she started to write for the school magazine.
Sue left the school when she was fifteen years old, so she didn’t finish her studies, and found employment like shop assistant. She kept writing, but did so in secret.
When Sue was eighteen she married, and a year later her first child was born. She had two children more, but later she divorced and she had had to take care of them.
His career as a writer began when she was 35 years old and starting from there, has published many books, like “The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole”, “The queen and I” or “Number Ten”. 
Afterwards she got married again. In 1999 the doctors discovered that she had diabetes, and she lost her sight gradually. Nowadays Sue is blind.
